1. Citizens of any country — through the quota system distributed by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education via Rossotrudnichestvo offices or the embassies/consulates of the Russian Federation in the applicant’s country of residence, based on a competitive selection process.
2. Applicants recognized as compatriots may apply on equal terms with citizens of the Russian Federation through the general competition based on Unified State Exam (ЕГЭ) results or the university’s internal entrance examinations.
3. Winners and prize-winners of the annual international student Olympiad “Future of Energy Engineering” are granted the right to free education in bachelor’s and master’s programs.

REINSTATEMENT AND TRANSFER OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO NRU “MPEI”
Reinstatement/transfer of students to NRU “MPEI” must be completed before the start of the academic semester in which the student plans to continue their studies. The decision on whether a student can be admitted is made by the relevant institute of NRU “MPEI” that offers the chosen academic program.
When considering reinstatement or transfer, the student’s academic performance and the differences between the curricula of the educational programs are taken into account.
