Admission
The National Research University “MPEI” conducts its educational activities on the basis of a state license and a certificate of state accreditation, which entitle the university to issue nationally recognized diplomas to individuals who have successfully completed their studies.
Admission of applicants to NRU “MPEI” as international students (through the International Education Directorate) is carried out both on a state-funded basis and on a contractual (tuition-based) basis, in accordance with the admission regulations of FSBEI HE “NRU MPEI”.

Visa and migration registration
The main goal of the Visa and Registration Department is to ensure compliance with the federal laws of the Russian Federation:
“On the Procedure for Exit from and Entry into the Russian Federation” (No. 114-FZ of July 18, 1996), and
“On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation” (No. 115-FZ of July 25, 2002) by international students and employees of NRU “MPEI”, as well as members of international delegations.

The main task of the Foreign Document Evaluation Department is to recognize foreign education and/or qualifications in order to grant access to MPEI’s academic programs and to enable professional activity at NRU “MPEI” for individuals with foreign academic credentials.

Dormitories
The student dormitory complex of NRU “MPEI” consists of eight dormitory buildings and a Sanatorium-Preventorium facility.
Within walking distance of the dormitories are the MPEI Cultural Center, cafeterias, a swimming pool, the Energia stadium, academic buildings, and the Scientific and Technical Library.
