After successfully passing the entrance exams, signing the education contract, and being officially admitted to the university, the applicant must obtain an
invitation to enter the Russian Federation.
To apply for an invitation for study purposes, a foreign citizen must submit the following documents:
- A completed application form for the invitation (filled out in Russian, print letters). All fields in the application form must be completed.
- A copy of the international passport, valid for at least 1.5 years from the expected start date of stay in the Russian Federation. The copy or scanned image of the passport must meet the following requirements: the image must be clear, high-contrast, and easily readable, with no glare or foreign objects. Both black-and-white and color versions are accepted.
A foreign citizen may submit an application for an invitation (application form and passport scan) electronically by sending it to the email address:
ovir@mpei.ruThe invitation is issued in electronic format and sent to the email address of the invited foreign applicant, as indicated in the application form.
The processing time for the invitation is
30 days from the date of submission of a properly completed application.
To obtain a visa for entry into the Russian Federation, the foreign citizen must then contact the Embassy of the Russian Federation in their home country.
When applying for a visa at a consular or diplomatic office of the Russian Federation using an electronically issued invitation, it is sufficient to present a
printed short form of the invitation.
Please note: the visa can only be issued
in the city specified in both the short and full printed versions of the electronic invitation.
If a paper version of the invitation is required, this must be requested separately.
